Plant Protection Laboratory
It is used to observe entomological and phytopathological temporary and permanent preparations with much greater precision, with the possibility of direct observation on a computer directly connected to a microscope. It is especially widely used in the diagnosis of plant diseases (mycosis), or diseases caused by phytopathogenic fungi. It is applied in plant sciences using fluorochromes, the universal fluorochrome for plant tissues being calcofluor, which stains tissue cells blue under UV rays. It is used to record living material, observe permanent microbiological preparations, observe specific microbiological preparations using a fluorescent lamp, observe photosyntheses pigmentation, observe pollen germination, number of pollen grains, etc.
